Standardized Terms of Reference (TOR)

Women Entrepreneur Development Unit (WEDU) of SME & Special Programmes Department developed a standardized Terms of Reference (TOR) and Banks/Non-Bank Financial Institutions are advised to develop their own TOR in line with Bangladesh Bank. ‘Terms of Reference (TOR)’ of WEDU include the followings: (a) WEDU will collect and preserve all Circulars, Guidelines and SME Manual of Bangladesh Bank in a separate file and will go through all information. The Unit will be closely in touch with Women Entrepreneur Development Unit (WEDU) of Bangladesh Bank and disseminate the information to the SME entrepreneurs;

(b) Preferences will be given to Women entrepreneur especially new women entrepreneur in extending credit facilities. Initiatives have to be taken to lessen the loan processing time and to ease the terms and conditions thereof.

(c) To disseminate information to branch level regarding Refinance Scheme of Bangladesh Bank in favor of women entrepreneur;

(d) To identify the real and prospective business Women entrepreneur with the help of different government/private organizations and different associations of women entrepreneur     i. e. BWCCI, CWCCI, SME Foundation;

(e) To identify the prospective business for women entrepreneur and circulate the list to branch level;

(f) To strengthen the monitoring activities of ‘Women Entrepreneur Dedicated Desk’ of all branches to ensure business friendly quality services for women entrepreneur;

(g) To undertake the effective initiatives for promotional activities to create fresh women entrepreneur;

(h) To provide advisory services for capacity building of women entrepreneur to empower them financially;

(i) To take initiatives in achieving loan disbursement target for women entrepreneur;

(j) To identify cluster run by women entrepreneur and to assist in developing that indented clusters;

(k) To perform other activities assigned by the office; and

(l) Complaints resolution of women entrepreneur at the earliest.

This initiative is intended to strengthen monitoring the activities of Women Entrepreneur Development Unit (WEDU)
