Open for non-resident individuals (including non-resident Bangladeshi) and
institutions.
Scope of Investment:
Shares and securities listed with stock exchanges
Bangladesh Govt. Treasure Bond (T-Bond)
Alternative Investment Fund (AIF)
Open-end Mutual Fund (OMF)
No ceiling (maximum limit) for FPI.
For FPI, non-resident investor shall open a Non-resident Investor's Taka Account
(NITA) with any AD.
NITA is a freely convertible bank account [foreign currency to local currency
(taka) or local currency to foreign
currency].
NITA of non-resident investor can be fed by foreign currency remitted from
abroad through normal banking channel or by
transfer of funds from the non-resident investor's foreign currency account, if any, in
Bangladesh.
NITA can be operated by the account-holder himself or by a nominee, including
the AD itself.
Periodic earnings (dividends/interest/coupons) and sale proceeds (net of
applicable tax) on the shares/securities
purchased through NITA, may be credited to NITA.
