After successful launching of Bangladesh Bank Quarterly, it gives me great pleasure to announce the publication of the second issue of Volume II summarizing the economic and financial developments during the second quarter (October-December, 2004) of FY05. We now have an Editorial Board and after some experimentation a well focused structure for the BB Quarterly has been developed. Despite some weaknesses in published data, the Quarterly provides rich source of quarterly data and analysis of economic and financial developments, not available elsewhere. Already we have received many positive feedbacks from the policymakers, market participants and researchers on the form and content of the publication and hope to refine our analysis and statistical base further in future. I would again like to emphasize that our goal is not only to formulate and implement policies to achieve national economic objectives but also to disseminate information and share central bank's analysis of economic and financial trend as widely as possible consistent with our mandate. To that end, we also welcome your comments and contribution on economic and financial sector issues.
